Robe projects his lighting on the façade of Laon Cathedral
For the show held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Laon (France) se utilizaron las cabezas móviles Steal Forte y MegaPointes. These were chosen for their potency, brillo e impacto, así como por sus características dinámicas.
They were used very effectively to create multi-layered effects on the building, including the two towers on the main façade that overlook the old town of Laon, and also to shoot eye-catching and powerful beams into the sky.
At the front of the building, On both sides of the stage, seven MegaPointes were deployed on the garden side and more on the courtyard side. Lined up next to each other, on special platforms, They were responsible for highlighting and giving texture to the walls of the cathedral, including the arched ceilings of the two large recessed side doors.
On the front balcony, were deployed 15 MegaPointes that were used to color the top half of the façade, Rear Walls, Under the highest arches, and to cast piercing beam effects into the city, Piercing the night sky.
It was a painstaking and laborious job in terms of assembly. The technical teams had to access the balcony and manually transport each of the devices through a network of narrow, twisting stairs to the first floor, and beyond for the MegaPointes that were placed even higher up, In the two towers.
Five MegaPointes were placed per side, Inside the top of the cathedral's two towers, at a height of 20 meters above the balcony. They were used to illuminate the underside of the towers' vaulted ceilings, which added depth and volume to the video mapping in this area and, In fact, to the whole image.
Una de las ideas del diseño de la iluminación era poder fragmentar y “cut” the façade vertically to create the illusion that some parts disappear or are removed from the overall picture, thanks to the strong contrast between illuminated and non-illuminated areas.
Mika appreciated the gobo and effect wheels, which he described as “Incredible”, as they allowed him to produce spectacular effects during segments of the music that needed very powerful lighting treatments.
Used a console MA Lighting grandMA2 to program and run lighting. All lighting equipment was supplied by the group BDL Event.
This musical and visual spectacle performed in the cathedral of Laon was seen live by more than 2.500 Spectators gathered in the square.
