Brompton takes its Led processing to the largest virtual production studio in Taiwan

LED Processing with Technology Brompton Boost customer content on the large LED screen of this virtual production studio, with optimal image quality and colour accuracy.

With offices in Taiwan and Australia, The film and television production company Reno Studios has recently inaugurated some innovative Virtual Production Facilities, Located in the country's oldest Taiwanese film studio, Central Motion Picture Corporation.

Considering that image quality is one of the most important elements for virtual production, and that LED panels and processors determine whether image details can be vividly reproduced on the studio's large curved LED screen, Huang's team chose the solutions of the LED panel manufacturer AUO Corporation, and the Tessera SX40 4K LED processors of Brompton.

The software features of BromptonTessera, like Puretone, ThermaCal, Frame Remapping, ShutterSync, Etc. allow filmmakers to freely create any type of content. The chromatic precision of the processors and the fluidity of the image create an environment that is as close to reality as possible, in which the actors can interact with the LED wall, merging seamlessly".

Volume Curved LED of the study is composed of AUO panels with pixel pitch 1,95 Mm, with dimensions of 12 meters wide by 5 high, that support the 99% of the DCI-P3 color space.

The main wall of the virtual production studio is made up of three groups of LED panels (left, Center & Right), each controlled by a Tessera SX40 4K LED processor and three data distribution units Tessera XD 10G.

"In addition to the SX40 processors and XD distribution units that control the main LED wall, there is also another Tessera SX40 system and an XD unit for the roof", Huang points out.

Among the additional perks Brompton offers to Reno Studios' special effects team, Huang points out how Tessera processors free images from color variations or screen tearing caused by video latency, So that the scene model and the animation special effects can be presented correctly, "And that the whole filming process is much smoother and hassle-free".

All LED panels have been dynamically calibrated with the advanced measurement system Hydra of Brompton. "Virtual LED production is still a new technology and is continuously advancing," Huang explains.
