Powersoft's sound platform sets the mood for the Fig at Malcha restaurant
This new and modern café-bakery from Delhi (India) uses the Mezzo flexible amplification platform 604 of Powersoft to cover its eight audio zones with only two computers.
Mezzo, The small and powerful medium-sized installation amplifier from Powersoft, is the basis of the multi-zone background music system installed in Fig at Malcha, a new high-end dining experience located very close to Chanakyapuri, New Delhi's historic diplomatic quarter, that combines Japanese design with the Nordic lifestyle with a careful menu of seasonal products.
This is the second Fig establishment in the Indian capital, in which they have also wanted to emphasize the sound they offer to their customers, for which they have had the help of the integrator BBW Distributors.
As he explains Gunbir Sing, Founder and co-owner of this company, "Fig wanted a warm, comforting sound., More hi-fi than professional, that aesthetically complements the lighting systems, air conditioning and ventilation to offer customers a pleasant listening experience in the space".
With extensive experience in the catering sector, BBW Distributors planned with the Fig at Malcha team "a multi-zone audio system in all public areas, as they wanted the visibility of the teams to be minimal", add Sing.
The solution to achieve this is based on a Powersoft system of Dynamic Music Distribution (DMD), composed of two Mezzo amplifiers coupled to a WM Touch control panel, that offers the same reliability, Quality and acoustics than the larger amplifier platforms of this manufacturer, but adapted to medium-sized installations with a compact system.
Using DMD, that leverages the dynamic routing capabilities embedded in Powersoft amplifiers, Users can manage Up to four independent zones using a single four-channel Mezzo amplifier. In Fig at Malcha, the Six audio zones are controlled by a single 4.3" Powersoft WM Touch display wall-mounted, that offers "an incredible level of comfort and ease of use", says Singh.
For installation they are combined two Mezzo amplification platforms 604 to that offer advanced DSP capabilities, Remote control and monitoring, with twelve Amphion Argon speakers and two Apart Kubo 3T, as well as a server Roon Silent Angel Rhein Z1 V2, one DAC Matrix Audio X-Sabre 3, speaker cables Gladen Audio E Furutech interconnections.
Although the Mezzo system 604 A also incorporates a state-of-the-art integrated DSP, BBW designed the system based on the physical attributes of space, opting to apply an acoustic treatment to the ceiling instead of relying solely on signal processing, while using a Roon server, that uses machine learning to automatically play music based on restaurant preferences, It's a first in the region.
In the two plants of Fig at Malcha, BBW divided the Powersoft amplifiers into four zones in each, with a total of eight audio zones: six dedicated to the ten Amphion loudspeakers installed in public areas, one for toilets and common space, and another for future enlargements.
Compact and easy to assemble, Powersoft's Mezzo amplifiers have been installed out of view of users, as those responsible wanted, on a rack located on the ground floor of the restaurant, while the discreet Amphion speakers are integrated into the environment with hardly any notices.
The local Powersoft computer, represented by your distributor Acoustic Arts, provided support during the installation phase.
Manish Yadav, founder of Fig restaurants (in the image above), He states that the new sound system "has completely exceeded our expectations.. Its quality is fantastic and it is very easy to use; We've never had to call them for anything important, as it seems to work on autopilot”.
As for the multi-zone DMD system, Yadav stresses that "restaurant staff now have the ability to control the levels of individual zones., So if they have to reduce or increase the sound for a particular area, They do it with a couple of taps on a touch screen.".
