Christie projectors power a VR lab at a Shanghai university
This facility provides students with an immersive virtual reality experience of 360 degrees thanks to 20 laser projectors Christie DWU7062-GS, offering 16K resolution.
the Christie GS Series 1DLP laser projectors are driving an innovative Immersive Virtual Reality of 360 degrees from a national public research university in Shanghai (China).
This installation provides students with a virtual reality experience thanks to the 2D and 3D visual effects displayed on the surrounding screen. This is achieved by 20 laser projectors DWU7062-GS, offering 16K resolution.
Projectors were supplied, commissioned and installed by Christie's partner, Liancheng Digital. This initiative, which has 3D positioning and tracking features, It is the first of its kind developed by a Chinese university, that optimizes talent training and creates new opportunities for experiential learning.
"This state-of-the-art facility features advanced projection and interactive 3D technologies, and is poised to transform the way our students learn and engage with virtual environments.", Associate Professor Zhongding Jiang, who oversees the immersive VR lab.
To ensure impeccable image quality and stability, Jiang's department collaborated with Liancheng Digital during the design phases, Installation & Commissioning.
"Its compact size allowed for strategic placement to accommodate two columns within the lab, while ensuring optimal heat dissipation. In addition, during the start-up phase, Meticulous calibration of the internal optical path was performed, the brightness and color uniformity of projectors. These efforts were crucial in ensuring that the VR system always delivered impeccable image clarity and uniformity on screen.", says Jiang when highlighting the advantages of Christie DWU7062-GS projectors.
According to Dr. Jiang, The creation of this immersive VR lab showcases the university's success in building an independent virtual reality system of 360 degrees and represents the culmination of extensive R+D efforts, including the use of lighthouse laser positioning technology.
The lab provides a platform for students and educators from all disciplines to engage in virtual simulation teaching and hands-on experiences, fostering an environment to cultivate innovative and entrepreneurial talent.
Christie's GS Series has laser illumination and eliminates the need to replace lamps and filters, Providing 20.000 Hours of Operation at Low Cost. Your wireless connectivity, Its small size, its low weight, Their quiet operation and wide range of lenses make them ideal for demanding, heavy-duty applications.
Some models incorporate Christie's Mystique camera-based warping and blending software and automated alignment tools, that make it quick and easy to set up, alignment, Recalibration and maintenance of multi-projection systems.
