Powersoft participates in the development of Sphere Immersive Sound and haptic seats
Sphere Immersive Sound is powered by 167.000 amplification channels provided by the Powersoft, that are integrated into the audio system Holoplot 1 x. Its ultra-low frequency Mover technology provides infrasound haptics to the 10.000 seats.
Powersoft has provided the Immersive Haptic Technology and Amplification Solutions from avant-garde to the recently inaugurated Sphere Las Vegas. This is integrated into the 10.000 seats of the place and is part of Sphere Immersive Sound powered by Holoplot, An advanced concert audio system. (More information at DAV)
“Sphere Immersive Sound has set a new standard in all aspects of live audio, and tens of thousands of people have already immersed themselves in its crystalline, individualized sound”, Explains David Dibble, CEO of MSG Ventures, a division of Sphere Entertainment. The past end of the past, with the premiere of Sphere Experience with Postcard from Earth of Darren Aronofsky, Guests experienced a truly multi-sensory haptic experience for the first time. Powersoft's cutting-edge, energy-efficient technology made them the perfect partner to help achieve our sustainability goals without compromising audio or haptic quality.”
Designed specifically for the curved interior of “The dial”, Sphere Immersive Sound is powered by 167.000 amplification channels provided by the amplification solutions of 16 Powersoft's compact, ultra-high-efficiency channels that are integrated into the audio system Holoplot X1 of the place.
MSG Ventures, that develops innovative technologies and content exclusively for Sphere, partnered with Powersoft to leverage their ultra-high-efficiency amplification solutions that achieve approximately 40 percent energy savings compared to traditional amplifiers, minimizing environmental impact without compromising sound quality.
“Sphere is the largest-scale and most innovative application of Powersoft technology to date, and we're thrilled to partner with a company that has the same values and vision for the future of live entertainment”, Says Carlo Lastrucci, President of Powersoft.
Sphere's Holoplot X1 Audio System Leverages Powersoft Innovations, in terms of energy efficiency, including its power factor correction (Power Factor Correction – PFC) and Class-D PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), Two technologies that have directly reduced the environmental impact of the audiovisual industry.
The benefits produced by the adoption of PFC technology include energy savings and a lower carbon footprint (CO2 equivalent emissions) of approximately 40% compared to amplifiers without power factor correction for the same output. Simultaneously, Powersoft's PWM technology transforms the power drawn from the power grid in the Sphere into usable energy that recycles the reactive energy that comes back from your speakers.
In addition to the 16 channels integrated into the Sphere Matrix Array Holoplot X1, Powersoft has provided the patented IPAL technology (Integrated Powered Adaptive Loudspeaker) used in the subwoofers of the X1 system. An IPAL-equipped system offers high acoustic performance and full control of the sound system's reproduction, regardless of load and acoustic conditions.
The 10.000 Sphere haptic seats, a key component of The Sphere Experience that makes audiences feel transported to another world, are integrated with Powersoft's infrasound system, Move. It is a compact transducer that uses haptic feedback to offer attendees a more convincing and realistic experience, that involves the senses beyond visual and sound stimulation.
Powersoft's patented movable magnet technology is more durable, Accurate and effective, and relies on an audio signal with ultra-low frequency reproduction to make the chairs vibrate and shake as desired at each performance.
To accompany the infrasonic haptic system, Powersoft has also supplied 2.500 Audio channels for the seats, provided by 718 Powersoft Quattrocanali amplifiers.
Sphere opened its doors on 29 with the first of the 25 Representations of 'U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere'. Sphere Experience, with the film Postcard from Earth, by Darren Aronofsky, premiered on 6 and was the first event in which the haptic seats in the room were used.
