Visix Boston Medical Group

In the last decade, This medical group has grown from 20 to 50 screens and features 29 Departments with a presence in the network. The latest update has been to migrate your network from Visix AxisTV 9 to AxisTV Signage Suite.

Boston Medical Group has completed the transition of your Visix AxisTV digital signage network 9 to AxisTV Signage Suite, providing users and patients with a more engaging and dynamic experience.

The digital signage network is one of the many responsibilities that Tahssin Alani carries as a field service analyst and AV AV support of the IT department. When he joined ten years ago, he set himself the challenge of improving visual resolution and functionality, as well as extending the network to new locations.

“We've grown from 20 to 50 screens in the last decade and we have 29 Departments with a presence in the network”, explains Alani. "Some departments contribute by advertising their services, and communications manages most of the content, including welcome messages, Health Notices, Awards & Our Series Rewriting Healthcare Featuring Patient Stories, Community Partners, Doctors and other members. I designed the templates for them to create their designs and they publish the content. AxisTV Signage Suite makes the process very quick and easy, and the visual quality has improved substantially.".

Visix has developed an app to keep visitors informed about wait times. Boston Medical Group's strategy includes mixing slides about wait time with colorful public service announcements, Informative slides and content to keep screens animated and dynamic.

the 29 Active in-network departments leverage the time-out app to keep patients relaxed and eliminate repetitive trips to the front desk.

Alani says a small number of people in each department can adjust wait times from their computer or mobile device by logging into the app, selecting your department and a time range from a drop-down menu.

“This eliminates the question of 'how long'’ that several patients do over and over again, which reduces stress for everyone involved”, Alani clarifies. "Visix has created a very simple interface, neat and intuitive with this app that has proven to be very useful. It takes a few seconds to make an adjustment, and the changes are replicated to the corresponding screen. If the timeout is changed from 30 to 15 minutes, That setting will appear the next time the slide is displayed in the rotation.".

While Visix initially incorporated this functionality into the AxisTV network 9 Boston Medical Group, Transitioning to AxisTV Signage Suite offers many new possibilities that were previously unavailable.

Alani also highlights the calendar app software, that can connect with Outlook for conference room reservations and other departmental needs. He says this adds value, above all, to the most executive and operations-focused buildings, such as the FGH and the Carter Conference Center.

Alani anticipates continued expansion of the network to new buildings and there are plans to add displays in satellite installations. The same AxisTV Signage Suite platform will serve these other locations, including the Brockton Behavioral Health Center. On the other hand, is in talks with Visix to implement a guidance pilot .

“The growth of our network has been driven by demand”, adds Alani, noting that new departments tend to pop up as they learn how others benefit from using them. "The fact that we can do so much more with this new platform will drive further expansion. We only use around the 50 percent of their capabilities".
