Disguise provides an immersive experience of height in the Rockefeller Center
To boost the new immersive and enveloping attraction at the top of the iconic Rockefeller center New York, Disguise has used new 3D mapping techniques.
Disguise has promoted a new video projection show and a multimedia theater experience for one of the most emblematic tourist attractions in New York: el Rockefeller center.
The projection, installed by Electrosonic, Disguise partner, presents a six -minute video show projected on an extremely detailed three -dimensional representation of 3 meters high of the center and the New York horizon that surrounds it. This attraction is being used to welcome new visitors to The Rock and describe their history more immersively than ever.
To allow Electrosonic to offer this projection with such a granular level of detail, Disguise has developed an update of its chamber -based projector calibration system, OmniCal, called Rigcheck API. This application allows AV equipment to complete calibrations from a third -party show controller without having to access the software Designer of disguise, which guarantees that images can be projected on complex architectural structures in minutes, instead of days, by one Disruptive internal mapping.
“When we improve Omnical's workflow, Specifically of the API Rigcheck, We wanted to ensure that the calibration process was the most fluid, Repeable and reliable possible”, explica Shae Langley, Director of Location -Based Experiences (LBX) a disguise.
The Disguise team has also optimized the usability of Omnical. This allows to detect if the omnical cameras, that are used to map the distance between objects, They are unfocused. A user can define the thresholds when creating a simulated camera plan, And these can be verified during the Rigcheck. This facilitates greater precision in 3D modeling, since the video content can be mapping without problems on structures in any form or size, What creates a much more immersive experience for guests.
“We are excited to see that omnical continue to be used to take advantage of the power of projection mapping techniques both in LBX and live shows worldwide”, explains Langley. “This development has allowed Disguise, at the same time that precision and ease of use is ensured”.
Immersive theater
In addition to the six -minute projection show, Disguise enhances the multimedia theater experience within the Rockefeller visitors center. It is an immersive five -minute audiovisual show that shows the history of New York City, using a combination of file and animation material.
This new immersive theater experience is driven by EX Multimedia Servers 3 of disguise, that specialize in video reproduction with perfect pixels about architecture and facilities. The use of high -power servers allows high definition visualization, as well as a space -envelope sound system to create a Multisensory experience enveloping.
"In addition to an incredible creative design, We knew we needed a solid technical solution to ensure that the projection model could work without problems until 15 hours a day ", Afirma Phil Hettema, Founder and Executive Director of THG Creative. “Disguise worked with us to develop a personalized automatic calibration solution, overcoming several technical challenges. Thanks to your collaboration, We have successfully launched a visually captivating and operationally reliable function in the welcome gallery, that guides the guests throughout the Rockefeller Center complex ”.
