Panasonic Connect Europe creates a 360° educational projection sphere
The Czech state-owned company Sféra Pardubice now has an advanced sphere of educational projection, which uses twelve laser projectors of Panasonic Connect Europe to create a 360° experience.
Panasonic Connect Europe has transformed an educational environment into a playful and immersive experience by installing a Projection Sphere in the Czech state-owned company Sféra Pardubice, in which Merge technology, Science and entertainment. Students and visitors can explore planetary data, natural phenomena and other events in a Three-dimensional and interactive environment.
This educational outreach project has been carried out, together with Panasonic Connect Europe, in collaboration with AV Media Systems and the Science On a Sphere program (SOS) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
For projection on the dial, the following are used: four Panasonic PT-FRZ50 DLP laser projectors, while Eight PT-RZ690 DLP take care of 360° ring. As he points out Zdeněk Krýsl, Sales Director of Visual System Solution of this company in the Czech Republic, "The RZ and FRZ models are ideal for long-term installations, offering long service life, great image uniformity and maintenance-free operation".
One of the main Challenges were to assemble the projection sphere, of 1,7 meters in diameter and built in carbon. The balloon was transported in two halves and assembled at its final location. The synchronization of the projections on the sphere and the surrounding ring was achieved thanks to the automatic calibration of DLP projectors.
Visitors can interact with the projections via a tablet, Changing perspectives and exploring visual content with complete freedom. This flexibility and technological precision allow for a Intuitive and uninterrupted operation, providing a continuous and fully immersive experience.
Sféra Pardubice is the largest projection facility with Panasonic technology in the Czech Republic and one of the few in Europe with a 360° widescreen display. Combine education, Science and entertainment, attracting both school visits and the general public.
The uniqueness of the solution has captured the attention of the U.S. embassy in Prague; in the spring of 2024, the U.S. ambassador to the Czech Republic, Bijan Sabet, was at the facility during a visit to the Pardubice region.
Sféra Pardubice's screening programmes offer up-to-date scientific information, such as earthquake tracking, air and sea traffic, cyberattacks and the Milky Way.

"Thanks to this technology, We can show visitors the world as they have never seen it.", Says Kateřina Pacindová, SOS teacher at Sféra Pardubice.
