Digital Projection sets a new standard in immersive entertainment with 3D video mapping
To create a totally realistic 3D effect in the stadium of the New Administrative Capital of Egypt, a 90° projection technique was used on a canvas of more than 12.000 square meters by means of 64 Titan Laser Projectors 37000 WUXGA Digital Projection.
Sixty-four Titan Laser Projectors 37000 WUXGA by Digital Projection have starred in the show of 3D video mapping, which was held last October at the stadium of the New Administrative Capital of Egypt.
Located about 50 miles east of Cairo and designed to be the jewel in the crown of the Olympic City, it is the largest sports stadium in Egypt and the second largest in Africa, with the capacity to 93.940 Spectators.
On the occasion of the show, HiLights Group installed an edge-to-edge 3D projection technique that integrates the walls and floors of the stadium into a single, fully cohesive screen.
“the Immersive visuals, achieved through meticulous planning and state-of-the-art technology, they brought to life a 3D experience that had not even been attempted before in this region”, comments Yara Mahran, Senior Digital Advertising Specialist at HiLights Group.
The project sought to create an unforgettable experience through high-definition projection mapping to cover a huge surface, Captivate viewers and transform space.
HiLights Group was instructed to create a visually appealing environment and the team made it happen by using 64 high-performance laser projectors from Digital Projection.
“Our goal was to push the boundaries of visual immersion in the context of a stadium. By transforming the space with high-definition, high-brightness visuals, We create an unforgettable experience that engages viewers from any angle”, Mahran explains.
In addition, He adds that the team set itself the mission of setting a new standard in immersive entertainment by demonstrating the possibilities offered by event technology.
It was necessary to achieve a totally realistic 3D effect, so the HiLights Group team used a 90° projection technology on a canvas of more than 12.000 square meters by means of 64 Titan Laser Projectors 37000 WUXGA by Digital Projection. “The perfect choice thanks to its brightness and precision”.
The team aligned the projectors to ensure depth and overlap, as Mahran explains. “By integrating 3D content with custom synchronized animations, We created visuals that seemed to pop out of the stadium surfaces and allowed us to achieve the effect we were looking for”.
Titan projectors were chosen for both their accuracy and reliability. Such a large canvas area required a rugged, accurate laser projector that could consistently emit high-resolution visuals throughout the expansive area of the stadium.
“Titan's brightness levels were a central element of the meeting where we received the requirements and instructions for projecting high-lighting visuals on both floors and walls, as they allowed us to offer a dynamic and impressive show”, Mahran points out.
The Titan 37000 Digital Projection's WUXGA is a bright and powerful laser projector from 3 Chips in a relatively compact enclosure, making it the ideal projector for the most demanding and complicated uses in large venues, where bright, sharp images are needed. I mean, It is very suitable for projection mapping shows in stadiums.
As a complement to the Digital Projection laser projectors, there were ten Watchpax60 media servers of Dataton combined with a Olympic Manager What did he contribute 20.000 Pixels, in addition to a lighting system of Vari-Lite and Robert Juliat.
The technical team strategically placed the Titan laser projectors in various corners of the stadium to maximize their coverage and maintain optimal projection distances with a constant pixel resolution of 10 Mm. This ensured a uniform projection of the contents onto the floors and walls of the football stadium with a brightness of 300 lux per square meter.
The content, created by Armoa Studios, It included animations and full-color graphics custom-designed with the stadium layout in mind. HiLights Group felt it was crucial that the visuals fit seamlessly with the technical layout to create a fully immersive experience that would capture the audience's attention.
“This 3D video mapping experience sets a new benchmark for future immersive events. The technical knowledge we have gained here will influence our upcoming projects and allow HiLights Group to continue to break the mold in the world of 3D projection”, Mahran adds.
