Audient iD48: Powerful eight-channel UDB-C audio interface

Designed with producers and sound engineers in mind, Audient has developed iD48, a USB-C audio interface of 8 canals, 24 Tickets and 32 Outputs, that has just been presented in NAMM 2025.

Responding to customer demand, “iD48 is the ultimate interface of Audient, based on the core feature set that have made the iD range so popular, with amazing audio performance along with an incredibly intuitive user experience, but this time with more than enough inputs and outputs to handle any session", Explains Andrew Allen.

The iD48 interface is designed with the Producers and sound engineers, and offers industry-standard features for the working professional. With Microphone preamps identical to those included in the Audient mixing console, ESS conversion of 32 Bit and the new technology Switchable analogue insert (Switchable analog insertion), Makes the integration of external devices fast and intuitive: The perfect foundation for a professional studio setup.

The iD48's high audio performance is due to its eight ultra-low-noise, low-distortion microphone preamps, that offer a profit of 68 dB and which are identical to those built into the Audient console.

As with the entire iD range, The design of the op-amp is the same as that found in the well-known recording console ASP8024-HE. "With iD48 we guarantee that the user will be able to enjoy true analogue Audient microphone preamps on their desktop: No copies, without emulations and without tricks", Allen stresses.

The option to add up to sixteen channels of external mic preamps offered by iD48 makes it easy to expand a setup, as needed. "iD48 is designed to grow with our users, offering the option to add more inputs and outputs via ADAT, S/PDIF or SMUX, future-proofing your studio and giving you the ability to easily perform demanding sessions with multiple microphones.".

Available in early March 2025 through Audio-Technica and, in the case of Spain, of Audio-Technica Iberia, iD48 also has all the capabilities of a professional monitor controller. "You can connect, Listen to and reference mixes via the main and alternate speaker outputs, or use the additional line outputs to send audio to an external headphone amplifier for distribution to artists", Allen points out.
