Peerless-AV Digital Signage Modernizes Operations at Lincoln Park Zoo
Four screens have been installed inside the visitor centre Samsung 75 horizontal″, with supports Peerless-AV SF650, as well as one of 55″ mounted with an SF640 system. The east gate features three Smart City kiosks KOP55XHB with XHB554 outdoor screens attached to concrete pedestals. Each is equipped with a WiFi antenna and a media player BrightSign.
The Lincoln Park Zoo, a historic Chicago institution (Illinois) founded in 1868, is dedicated to preserving wildlife and enhancing the visitor experience. To modernize its visitor communications and provide more dynamic AV solutions, it has partnered with Peerless-AV to implement an innovative digital signage solution that optimizes the visitor experience while integrating into the environment.
The project has included the installation of Outdoor Kiosks & Display Stands Inside, Designed to deliver flexible, high-quality content in the zoo's high-traffic areas.
As a cultural and educational reference point, Lincoln Park Zoo faced a common challenge among historic sites: How to modernize infrastructure without sacrificing the integrity of the site or overwhelming the natural environment. The center relied on traditional static signage for orientation, Events and educational content, But as the visitor experience continued to evolve, The need for a more adaptable digital solution became apparent, engaging and informative.
In addition, given Chicago's extreme weather conditions, ranging from cold winters to wet summers, a signalling solution was needed that was not only adaptable, but also durable enough to withstand these environmental challenges.
Modernize signage
The zoo applied for a grant to improve the visitor experience, including the installation of digital signage technology that would optimize the communication of site information and programming throughout the zoo through the Digital Signage Technology.
After receiving the grant, Peerless-AV was selected as the manufacturer and integrator for this digital transformation project due to its ability to deliver high-performance, weatherproof outdoor digital signage solutions and its relationship with the zoo.
The outdoor kiosks and displays used in this facility are designed with great durability and brightness, which allows a Optimal visibility in all lighting conditions, whether it's a bright summer day or a cloudy winter afternoon. Working in partnership with Lincoln Park Zoo and the CDW, Peerless-AV provided a comprehensive range of solutions to address the needs of the zoo.
Installation teams designed a plan to implement digital solutions at key locations throughout the zoo, Entrance fees included, High-traffic roads and near gates to maximize visibility and engagement. One of the challenges was to ensure that the installation did not disrupt the natural lighting patterns of the animal enclosures to avoid affecting the animals' welfare, while optimizing communication with visitors.
Lincoln Park Zoo Chose Peerless-AV for Its Display quality, with Brilliant images and clear. Another critical factor was the company's strong customer support. Peerless-AV worked hand in hand with zoo project managers, providing technical assistance, Engineering expertise and on-site support during installation. Planning and installation
The zoo's IT team was involved in the planning, making sure that the WiFi infrastructure was solid enough to withstand the Content Management System (CMS).
Peerless-AV worked with the zoo to ensure the system was easy to update remotely, which facilitated faster adjustments to the content, event promotions and other important messages.
Inside the Searle Visitor Centre four have been installed Samsung Displays horizontal 75 Inch, with Peerless-AV SmartMount Universal Flat Wall Brackets (SF650), as well as a Samsung display of 55 Inches and Peerless-AV SmartMount Universal Flat Wall Mount (SF640).
In the area of the east outdoor gate there are three Smart City kiosks by Peerless-AV (KOP55XHB) with high-brightness outdoor displays Xtreme de 55 Inch (XHB554) fixed to concrete pedestals. Each is equipped with a WiFi antenna and a Media Player BrightSign. Two Xtreme high-brightness outdoor displays have also been installed from 75 Peerless-AV inches (XHB754) with Outdoor Flat Wall Brackets (ESF675) and corrosion-resistant coating and stainless steel hardware.
