DAS Audio helps O Beach bring the Ibiza vibe to Dubai

Given the magnitude of the project, required a powerful sound system and the DAS Audio were once again the chosen option for their new establishment.

After becoming one of the most important clubs in Ibiza (Spain), Famous for its pool parties, its roster of international DJs and legendary shows, O Beach has just opened its doors in Dubai's JBR district, bringing to the emirate everything that made it famous in the Mediterranean.

The venue, of more than 5.000 square meters, It has indoor and outdoor spaces, including luxury cabanas and VIP exhibition beds, a swimming pool of almost 400 square meters and an exclusive elevated restaurant with 360º views over the beach. At the epicenter of the pool is the DJ's main booth framed by LED screens.

"The experience at our beach club is far above the usual, since there are endless shows in its different spaces. A huge crane impresses, that hangs over the pool and drops gigantic sets and inflatables. Everything is designed with the show in mind.", Explains Duane Lineker, Manager of Ocean Beach Ibiza.

In addition to the difficult characteristics of a place of such dimensions, In this installation, the challenge of localization and noise pollution had to be added.

O Beach is located outdoors next to the beach, so the installed equipment had to withstand both the sunny and hot days of Dubai and the humid environment and saltpeter caused by a maritime environment. To add even more difficulty, the O Beach club is located next to hotels and apartment blocks, so the sound design had to take into account the rest and tranquility of the neighbors. Offering an unforgettable sound experience without harming the tranquil atmosphere of the area was a challenge.

The choice of the Ara Systems, was presented as the ideal option. After surprising thousands of attendees, International artists, as well as the owners of O Beach Ibiza themselves, These line arrays offered everything needed for a new installation of this type.

“The owners, customers and guests were very happy with the DAS system in Ibiza. When they decided to come here, we studied with DAS the possibility of installing a similar system in Dubai. We are very proud that Sara will be used for the first time both in the region and in a beach club here.", Says Anro Schroeder of Procom Middle East.

The audio from the main dance floor is mostly streamed through twenty-eight WR-320-DXW line array systems, with a bass boost of six Sara-SUB-W subwoofers and WR-218S-DXW dedicated to the dance floor. Various Artec series systems provide the necessary additional filler.

“The use of Sara subwoofers, What are cardioids, arose from O Beach's need to prevent sound from spreading to homes in the area. On the one hand, they are looking for optimal and quality sound inside the premises, but on the other hand, they also have in mind the rest of the neighbors", adds Anro Schroeder.

A total of 19 Artec-508-W keep the cabins and 360º restaurant fully covered, in combination with 4 Artec-S15-W. Whereas 24 Deco-8-T-W bring the best music to the changing rooms and bathrooms. All systems were chosen with a pure white finish to integrate with the aesthetics of the venue. The whole team is networked via Dante.

"The result is a very linear directional system that takes into account the propagation of noise. This was very important to meet the requirements of the owners and surrounding businesses. The entire system works in harmony as a single solution over a very wide area, offering exceptional clarity and impressive acoustic strength. It met all the necessary requirements in terms of weathering, cardioid configuration, dispersion and SPL levels", Schroeder says.

On the other hand, the IMI Group claims to have fulfilled its objective of bringing the best sound environment in Ibiza to the emirate.
