Digico V20

The version 20 of this software DiGiCo includes integration of the work surface with Fourier audio devices, the addition of a new Mustard font expander and an optional theater software extension for the Quantum225 console.

The DiGiCo mixing consoles have long been praised for various reasons, Like your sound, Intuitive operation and reliability. Perhaps less obvious, but equally important, is the fact that the company designs its products with upgradeability and longevity in mind, a point that is demonstrated with the new launch of the version 20 software for all Quantum and SD-Range consoles.

The new V20 software update adds numerous new and invaluable features, among which the direct integration of audio Fourier for all Quantum console work surfaces. Users can simply connect their desktop to transform.engine's control network to synchronize session files and snapshots, as well as to view and control plugins on your console's touchscreen.

When activating a channel strip with an inserted Fourier string, The plugin string is displayed on the console's home screen. All visual processing is done within transform.engine, without consuming console processing power. From this panel, Parameters can now be controlled via the touchscreen and rotary touch dial, Feature enabled by the plugin manufacturer.

There is also an option to control sessions and snapshots (known as the 'Cuelist List') in transform.engine. When enabled, Loading a session into the console will load the session of the same name on the Fourier device. In addition, transform.engine can follow commands, including saving a session. As for snapshots, Insertion, The shot, The Update, The automatic update status of snapshots, Deletion and reordering are copied to the engine, ensuring they stay in sync with the console.

In the version 20, DiGiCo has added support for Sound Device Transmitters. With the new Astral external control device, Macros can be programmed to be triggered directly from the transmitter when using the A20-Nexus and A20-SuperNexus receivers. Possible uses for this control could be a simple push-to-talk, Enable a separate signal for a conductor in a broadcast, or allow a vocalist to turn on or off a specific effects send for their microphone during a performance.

Mustard Fountain Expander (MSE)

The v20 also incorporates the Mustard Fountain Expander (MSE), a new dynamics option for the Mustard processing strips of the Quantum consoles. It reduces the level of a signal by a certain amount when it is below a threshold. Works similarly to a door, but it is more suitable for non-transient signals, such as vocals or brass instruments.

By lowering the level when a singer stops singing, MSE minimizes the possibility of feedback and, in general, Reduces the level of stage noise that is transmitted to open microphones. Its controls include threshold, depth (that can reach the 40 db) and release rate. It also has a sidechain.

The V20 software is also a necessary upgrade to integrate the Theatre software DiGiCo's optional on the company's most compact Quantum console, the Quantum225, Suitable for small to medium-sized theatre halls and productions.

The 'T Package’ Modify how console reference lists work, Designed specifically for theatrical applications, and allows you to manage cast and costume changes using players and aliases. Upgrading to Theatre software on a Quantum225 offers the same number of additional channels and processing as the company's Pulse upgrade, with 96 Input channels, 48 Buses, 36 Mustard processes and 48 Nodal Processes. It also extends the array even beyond the number of pulses, increasing to 24 in 24.

“When someone invests in a DiGiCo console, You do this with the certainty that your product will be a lasting solution, not something that will quickly become obsolete and need to be replaced in just a few years”, Says Austin Freshwater, CEO of DiGiCo. “Since we're always looking for the fastest and most powerful DSP in the industry, The answer lies in software updates that increase the number of channels, optimize processing efficiency and incorporate new functions and features. With our new V20 software, even SD7 and SD8 users who have had their consoles for more than 15 years can continue to enjoy the new advances that will keep their productions at the forefront.”

Additional features of the V20 version:

  • By moving an EQ band on the Quantum852 through the physical channel, That band will be selected on the main channel.
  • Subnet mask is now displayed in Diagnostics.
  • A confirmation message will appear when deleting a bank from the fader banks panel.
  • Fixed several bugs in the previous version of the software.
